Seeking to enhance their relationship, at an international conference on “Africa-India Partnership in the 21st Century”, representatives from India and many African nations gathered here to prepare an action plan for launching joint ventures in new areas.
“India has a historical relationship with Africa. There have been certain fundamental changes in Africa and India over the years. Our effort is to bring complementarity and synergy for mutual benefit,” said Nalin Surie, Secretary (West), Ministry of External Affairs.
He said India’s relationship with Africa is based on mutual respect and mutual benefit.
Both India and the African countries share a common vision of inclusive and equitable growth in society, Surie said.
The possible areas for having partnerships include trade, education, capacity building, technology, infrastructure, agriculture and food processing.
