South Africa lead India by 147 runs

Ahmedabad : South Africa were comfortably placed at 223 for four in the first innings and led India by 147 runs at the end of the opening day’s play of the second Test here at the Sardar Patel Stadium Thursday.

Jacques Kallis (60) and A.B. de Villiers (59) were unbeaten at the crease at the end of the day’s play. Harbhajan Singh was the peak of the Indian bowlers, picking up three wickets for 49 runs on a track which has a tinge of grass on it.
