Gaza : Chief Palestinian negotiator Dr. Saeb Erekat will bring together Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert in Jerusalem on Monday.
Speaking to the Voice of Palestine, Erekat said several issues would be discussed during the meeting, including the resumption of the peace process and stalled negotiations due to the construction of settlements on the part of Israel.
“President Abbas will bring up the issue of Israeli settlements during his meeting with Olmert, which is considered a lack of commitment to implementing the first phase of the ‘road map’ for peace placed by the International Quartet Committee,” he told the radio.
Other topics that will be discussed include truce in the Gaza Strip, the closed crossings, and lifting the siege on Gaza, he added.
On a different noted, he said Abbas would be visiting Moscow next week to discuss with the Russian leadership the latest developments in the Middle East.
