Hadramout, Yemen : At least one soldier was killed and seven others injured when unidentified persons attacked on Friday two security checkpoints in Hadramout province, SABA reported.
Governor of Hadramout Taha Hajer said to the military-run 26sep.net that anonymous persons attacked the security checkpoints at the areas of al-Qatan and Hora in Hadramout with mortars killing a soldier and injuring seven others.
Hajer said the security forces had launched a hunt for the perpetrators that are believed to be drug traders.
The authorities have recently tightened security measures at the checkpoints after a similar incident previously took place at two security checkpoints in the province.
