New Delhi : Budding golfers in India have a chance to improve their short game with the launch here Wednesday of GolfRiTe, founded by former India athlete Kapoor Singh.
GolfRiTe will also bring the world-famous US Kids Golf Tour and OZGolf, a unique technology that allows building of short golf courses on synthetic surfaces. GolfRiTe has already initiated talks with numerous schools across the country to set up GolfRiTe Academies.
The programme will see GolfRiTe organise golf skills challenges in six age groups, ranging from 6 to 18, at its academies every three weeks. Golfers compete in five different skills to earn ranking points to move up the merit list.
“I have visited some top 30 schools in north India. Everyone liked it and they are eager to have such a programme for young golfers. We will set up short game academies in each school and coaches trained by us will be in charge of it,” Kapoor told reporters here.
Competitive leagues will also be organized in putting, chipping from the fringe, bunker shots, bump and run shots from about 40-50 yards, pitch shots with a lofted club from about 40-50 yards.
The three National champions from each group get three weeks training in Orlando, Florida.
Lauding the GolfRiTe effort, top Indian golfer Shiv Kapur said: “Not much emphasis is given to the grassroots level. If you don’t have junior programmes where from will you get professionals like us.”
GolfRiTe has a partnership with the world’s leading brands such as US Kids Golf and Australia based OZGolf Technologies. These associations will ensure young golfers throughout India get top quality training facilities and professionally managed competitions throughout the year.
Ozgolf Technologies is an Australian company from Queensland that has invented a unique system over an extended period of time to win golf projects anywhere in the world.
