Islamabad : The Commonwealth Ministerial Action Group (CMAG) will meet in London on May 7-8 to restore Pakistan’s membership to the Commonwealth, officials said.
The Commonwealth members have decided to restore Pakistan’ s membership after the new government had been established in Islamabad.
A formal announcement would be made by the CMAG in London.
On November 10 last, the CMAG gave a 10-day ultimatum to Pakistan to lift the emergency rule or face the suspension of its membership.
Some of leading members of the Commonwealth, including the United Kingdom, have assured Pakistan that its membership would be restored, officials said.
