Damascus : Syria accused the United States here Thursday of using the International Court of Justice ICJ, investigating the assassination of late Lebanese Prime Minister Rafiq AL-Hariri as a tool to put pressure on Syria.
The accusation was made by an official in the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement released to the media by the Foreign Media Department.
The Syrian official said, in response to American Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice’s statements before a Congress committee, “What the American Secretary of State said is in anticipation of the results of the international investigation, still incomplete.” He added that this statement provided new evidence that the US is using the Hariri tribunal as a political pressure tool against Syria.
