Colombo : At least 13 Tamil rebels died and other 39 were wounded in clashes registered in northern Sri Lanka, reported the Defense Ministry.
A military communiqué released in Colombo said fightings lasted for the last 24 hours and that the government air force also bombed Tamil Eelam Liberation Tigers (TLTE) camp.
In the northern districts of Jaffna, Welioya, Mannar and Vavuniya 11 government soldiers were wounded.
Over 75,000 people, among civilians, soldiers and rebels, have died since clashes began Sri Lanka in 1983.
