Ramallah : Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert will meet in Jerusalem later on Sunday, Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat said.
It will be the second meeting in less than a week between the two leaders who met in Jerusalem on April 7 for the first time in nearly two months.
During their three-hour meeting, the two sides agreed to continue talks and pledged to reach a comprehensive agreement by the end of 2008, a goal set at an International peace conference last November.
But gap was still deep as Palestinian were concerned about Israeli settlement construction and humanitarian issues in West Bank and Gaza Strip, while Israel raised its security concerns and urged the Palestinians to rein in militants.
In early March, Abbas briefly suspended his biweekly meetings with Olmert in protest against an Israeli ground military operation in the Gaza Strip which killed more than 120 Palestinians.
Israel and the Palestinians revived negotiations at a U.S.-hosted international conference in Annapolis, Maryland last November, and the two leaders had since initiated regular meetings.
