Bhopal : On the occasion of the 117th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, (BHEL), Bhopal unit Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Employees Association organized a programme at Ambedkar Park, Berkhera here on Monday.
RK Singh, Executive Director BHEL Bhopal unit, MC Prasad, General Manager (HR), office-bearers of the Association, representatives from various Trade Unions and residents from the BHEL township were present in the programme in large numbers. Singh, Prasad, senior officials and all present offered garlands to the statue of Dr. Ambedkar.
Singh in his address said how Baba Saheb revolutionized the Indian society and awakened the people with his charismatic leadership. A role model for the millions, Baba Saheb wanted to see a prosperous and vibrant India where everyone is equal and no one is debarred from any facility because of his caste. He strongly favoured changes in the society to make it strong and sustainable. Singh also quoted Upanishads and other religious texts which assimilated changes for the betterment of the society. He asked the people to serve the country selflessly like Baba Saheb.
Prasad in his address said that if someone is committed towards some goal, no power in the world can stop him or her from reaching the destination. Emphasizing on the need of education, he said that after education, one must think for his fellow persons also. People shuld be united to uplift the weaker sections of the society. He further said that in the present scenario technical education should be given priority. ([email protected])
