Lok Sabha adjourned following pandemonium over inflation

New Delhi : The Lok Sabha was adjourned till 11.30 a.m. Tuesday following disruption by the opposition members over the issue of price rise.

When the house met, Prime Minster Manmohan Singh introduced the newly inducted ministers – M.S. Gill, V. Narayansamy, Satish Bagrodia, Raghunath Jha, Rameshwar Oraon, Jyotiraditya Scindia and Jitin Prasada. Gill has been made minister of state with independent charge, while the rest are ministers of state.

Soon after, Samajwadi Party MPs entered the well of the house, raising slogans highlighting the failure of the government in curbing prise rise. Other opposition MPs expressed solidarity with them.

Following the pandemonium, Speaker Somnath Chatterjee was forced to adjourn the house at 11.10 a.m.
