New Delhi : India’s cricket maestro Sachin Tendulkar Wednesday declined to run in the Olympic torch relay to be held in the Capital Thursday.
The reason behind Sachin’s refusal to take part in the relay is still not known but according to sources in the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), the batsmen didn’t want to aggravate his groin injury by running in the race and scupper his chances to take part in the Indian Premier League (IPL) starting Friday.
Sachin’s decision is a big setback for the IOA, which is scheduled to announce the final list of runners later Wednesday.
