New Delhi : Reliance Energy, and the Tatas and Larsen & Toubro are among the bidders short-listed Wednesday for upgrading the Amritsar and Udaipur airports.
The bidders short-listed for the Amritsar airport are Reliance Energy, Fraport AG Frankfurt Airport Services, Tata-Changi consortium, Lanco Infratech-Genting (Singapore) consortium, and L&T IDPL-Unique consortium, the civil aviation ministry said in a statement.
The Airports Authority of India (AAI) short-listed Reliance Energy, Tata-Changi consortium, L&T IDPL-Unique consortium, Maytas Infra-NCCIHL-VIE Indieu-Beteiligungen Gmbh consortium and GMR Infrastructure for the Udaipur airport.
According to AAI officials, 24 infrastructure firms bid for the development and modernisation of the Rs.2 billion Udaipur airport.
They said the AAI would call for proposals by this month-end and its outcome would be decided sometime in June.
Besides the Udaipur and Amritsar airports, 33 non-metro airports are in the process of being upgraded and additional infrastructure are being put to place.
Of the total 35 airports undergoing upgradation, development of 24 non-metro airports is being undertaken through public-private partnerships (PPP). These include the Amritsar and Udaipur airports also.
All the 25-non-metro airports have been given a deadline for upgradation by 2010.
