Seoul : The South Korean government said Thursday some three million chickens and ducks have been culled so far to prevent the spread of bird flu in the country.
Seven new suspected bird flu outbreaks were reported to the government in the southwestern part of the country, the Ministry for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries said.
Of the total 43 laboratory samples for suspected bird flu cases this year, 21 have tested positive for avian influenza.
The South Korea government has put the country on high alert Wednesday over the spread of bird flu.
