Berlin : Dozens of people were injured and arrested late Saturday afternoon when a demonstration of Kurds in Berlin’s city center turned violent, news reports said.
At least 11 police officers were hurt and 57 people were detained, a Berlin police spokesperson said.
Kurds and Turks clashed with each other following a series of verbal provocations, coming from the sidelines of the demonstration.
Both sides pelted one another with bottles and stones. Germany has repeatedly been the scene of bloody street battles between militant Kurdish and far-right Turkish nationalist groups.
