New Delhi : Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) MP Brinda Karat Monday lashed out at Finance Minister P. Chidambaram for dubbing Marxists “enemies of the people” for opposing “economic growth”.
“People will decide who is their enemy,” she told the Rajya Sabha in a repartee to Chidambaram’s statement in Kerala Sunday where he said the ideology of “those” who oppose economic growth should be rejected.
Initiating a discussion on the functioning of the rural development ministry, Karat said that those who exclude the poor from growth are “enemies of the people”.
