Monte Carlo (Monaco) : India’s Mahesh Bhupathi and Mark Knowles of Bahamas stormed into the finals of the men’s doubles event at the Monte Carlo Masters tennis tournament here Saturday with a straight sets victory.
Bhupathi-Knowles, seeded fourth in the event, took just over an hour to thrash the unseeded South African combination of Jefff Coetzee and Wesley Moodie 6-0, 7-5 in the first semifinal.
The Indo-Bahamas duo will face the winners of the other semifinal between eighth seed Jonas Bjorkman of Sweden and Kevin Ullyett of Zimbabwe and unseeded Spanish pair of Rafael Nadal and Tommy Robredo.
Bhupathi and Knowles are in the quest for their third ATP doubles crown this season after having won back-to-back titles in Memphis and Dubai.
