Baghdad : The US air force raided Thursday night Al Husseiniyah neighborhood in north Bagdad as part of a campaign against the Shiite Mehdi Army, leaving two dead and eight wounded.
The Iraqi Interior Ministry says the above follows an attack by joint US-Iraqi forces on Sadr City, a bastion of cleric Muqtada Al Sadr.
But the report lacks data on the victims since the area was closed down.
On April 19, Cleric Al Sadr declared in Najaf, south Iraq, an open war on Iraqi policemen and military if the foreign troops do not withdraw, even gradually, from Iraq, but at Friday prayers he called both parties to stop the bloodbath.
