Sana’a : Yemen Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation and Comoros Ministry of Fishery and Environment signed on Saturday in Sana’a a Memo of Understanding concerning agricultural cooperation.
The MOU included to boost cooperation fields between Yemen and Comoros on irrigation, plants production, livestock resources, poultries, agricultural researches and guidance, preserving plants and forests, agricultural marketing and rural women development.
It also included encouraging private sectors of the two countries to set up joint projects in agricultural fields according to investment laws of the two countries.
Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation Mansour al-Hawshashi and Comoran Minister of Fishery and Environment Siti Qassem signed the MOU.
According to the MOU, the two sides agreed on exchanging experiences, researches and exchanging agricultural information, technical studies, researches and consultations.
Minister of Fisheries Wealth Mahmoud Saghiri affirmed Yemen’s keenness to provide all facilities and support for Comoros in the area of fisheries to benefit from its marine wealth.
The Minister pointed out during his meeting with Minister of Agriculture, Fishing, and Environment Siti Qassem in Comoros the quantities of fish exported annually from the country, reviewing Yemeni experiences in the field of aquarium and industry of boats.
For her part, Comoros minister said that her country is looking forward to benefit from Yemeni experience in the area to fish, affirming the importance of signing a cooperation agreement between the two countries in the area of fishing.
