CAIR-PA offers Islamic course at church

Philadelphia : The Philadelphia office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations’ Pennsylvania chapter (CAIR-PA) completed a 10-week course on “Understanding Islam and Muslims” at the Grove Methodist United Church in West Chester, Pa. Some 25 members participated in the course, which was conducted by CAIR-PA Chair Iftekhar Hussain. “The course taught me a framework and a vocabulary to understand Islam, Muslims and world events,” said one participant in the course, according to a CAIR statement.

CAIR, America’s largest Muslim civil liberties group, has 32 offices, chapters and affiliates nationwide and in Canada. Its mission is to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding
