Gaza : Head of the Palestinian delegation for last status negotiations with Israel Ahmad Qurei warned here Wednesday from the continuous Israeli military escalation against Palestinians, which undermines all the Palestinian, regional, and international efforts to bring peace.
In a statement broadcast by official Palestinian radio early today, he said the continuous crimes of the Israeli forces against the people in Palestine, continued building of settlements, and the building of the separation wall will not lead to any progress in the political negotiations.
He called for an active role by the international quartet committee to put an immediate stop to Israeli aggressions in Gaza strip and the West bank.
Qurei also stated “We know our rights and will fight for them, by all means possible.” Israeli media had mentioned Tuesday that Qurei angrily rejected an Israeli map suggested as last status solution which gives Israel full control on large settlement blocks that it built in the West bank, occupied Jerusalem, and Al-Aghwar region.
The same sources added that Qurei crumpled the map in his hand and threw it away during the meeting with the Israeli negotiators.
