New Delhi: In recognition of the great religious and community services rendered by Imarat Shariah (Bihar, Orissa and Jharkhand), a prominent Muslim institution in the country, the Institute of Objective Studies (IOS) will confer on it lifetime achievement award.
Admiring continuous and limitless services offered by the organization, IOS will award Rs one lakh in cash and accolades to the organization, says a report in Urdu daily Hamara Samaj. The award will be given here to Ameer Shariat Maulana Syed Nizamuddin in a public ceremony to be held on 10th August 2008. This is second lifetime achievement award to be conferred by IOS. Starting from last year, the first award was conferred on ex-chief justice of India Justice A. M. Ahmadi for his individual performance.
IOS has instituted the award to encourage those individuals and institutions whose services benefited the community and the Millat and helped promote stability and higher values in the society. The decision to award Imarat Shariah this year has been taken in the light of its efforts for establishing unity and integration among Indian Muslims, organizing them on the basis of Shariat and solving their problems in the light of Shariat.
