Lucknow : In an incident straight out of a Bollywood film, a woman snatched away a loaded pistol from a miscreant as he attempted to rob her in the posh Gomtinagar area of Lucknow Sunday evening.
The woman, Surajwanti, in her 30s, told the police: “I was returning from a hospital along with a friend, Pushpa, on a cycle rickshaw when two motorcyle-borne persons intercepted us.” said Surajwanti.
One of them tried to pull a gold chain from Pushpa, while the other pointed a pistol at Surajwanti and asked her to hand over her gold chain.
“I snatched the pistol away from the man. Seeing this, the duo fled from there”, she said.
“A case has been lodged and we are searching for the miscreants based on their description provided by the women”, circle officer of Gomtinagar, S.C. Dubey told IANS Monday.
