Czech Ambassador visits Darul Uloom Deoband

Deoband (Saharanpur, UP): The Ambassador of the Czech Republic in India, Dr. Hynek Kmonicek said terrorism is a serious problem for the entire world and it is inappropriate to associate it with religion as terrorism has no religion.

The ambassador was talking to reporters on his visit to Darul Uloom Deoband, the most prestigious Islamic seminary in South Asia. Regarding his Deoband visit, he said the popularity and attraction of Darul Uloom Deoband brought him here. This is the highest place for learning Islamic sciences, says a report in the Urdu daily Hamara Samaj.

The Czech ambassador, who knows Arabic language, said no doubt Islam is a peaceful religion that has always preached the message of peace and well-being, love and brotherhood as well as mutual tolerance. He said he had strong yearnings to visit Deoband, an important center of religious education and that he found it fulfilling the demands of Islamic teachings.

Commenting on the anti-terrorism campaign launched by Darul Uloom Deoband, he said this movement is very timely and it is very pleasing that its leadership comes from an influential city like Deoband which is also an institution. He said the decision was taken at right time.

He met senior authorities of the madrasa including deputy rector of Darul Uloom Deoband Maulana Abdul Khaliq Madrasi, Maulana Khizr Mohammad Kashmiri, head of the department of organization and development.
