Chennai : Cash and jewellery worth Rs.8.7 million have been seized from a senior official of the Tamil Nadu electricity board after a team of the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption raided his house and bank lockers in Erode district, officials said Friday.
The anti-corruption team raided the residence of K.G. Natesan, currently posted as chief engineer (civil constructions) at Erode, late Thursday.
The 55-year-old official was not arrested since he had obtained advance bail from the Madras High Court.
The cash and valuables were deposited in a court in Erode Friday, the officials said.
