Kolkata : An 11-year-old girl was crushed to death by a speeding bus here Saturday, the police said.
The accident occurred near College Street in central Kolkata under Jorasanko Police Station at 8.30 a.m.
Monica Jaiswal was going to Thanthania Kali Temple near College Street with her father Narsingh on a motorcycle.
“A speeding private bus hit their motorcycle. Monica was thrown on the road and was overrun by the vehicle. She died on the way to Medical College and Hospital,” Jorasanko police station officer-in-charge Nurul Anwar told IANS.
Anwar said the driver of the bus is absconding. “We are trying to track down the driver,” he said.
