Palani (Tamil Nadu) : Eight members of a family, including three women, were killed after a head-on collision between a van and a privately-owned public transport vehicle Wednesday, police said.
The family was returning from a pilgrimage near here in a small van that collided with the other vehicle at high speed, police said.
The bodies were handed over to relatives after the post-mortem. No arrests were made so far, officials added.
Situated some 450 km southwest of capital Chennai, the vicinity of this temple town has been witnessing a spate of accidents in recent times.
