Ghaziabad : A Maharashtra police team Friday raided the Ghaziabad residential premises of a man who threatened Shiv Sena chief Balasaheb Thackeray on email, and arrested him.
Maharastra police sub-inspector Vilas Dhara said on Aug 4 Adarsh Sinha generated an email from Ghaziabad in which he defaced the picture of the Shiv Sena chief by putting a cross over it and wrote that Thackeray would be killed.
On a complaint from the Shiv Sena, the Thane police registered a criminal case and tracked the sender to Ghaziabad.
The Maharashtra police, accompanied by Kavi Nagar police, arrested Sinha from his A-113 Govindpuram residence and obtained a transit remand from the court. The police took the accused to Maharashtra for trial in court, said Vilas Dhara, sub-inspector of the Maharashtra police.
