New Delhi : A man was Sunday allegedly robbed of more than Rs. 250,000 in cash at knife point by an auto-rickshaw driver and his accomplices near Raj Ghat in the national capital, a police official said.
Naveen Makkar was returning from Bangalore where he had gone for his son Mayank’s admission to an engineering college.
“Naveen took an auto-rickshaw from the Nizamuddin Railway Station250,000 to ISBT (Inter-State Bus Terminal). One person was already sitting in the auto. The driver took the auto to Raj Ghat on the pretext of meeting a third person,” a police official said.
“The third person snatched the bag filled with cash from Naveen on knife point and the auto-rickshaw driver and the two people fled the scene,” the official added.
The bag also contained some documents.
“We are looking for the auto-rickshaw driver as he seems to be prima facie involved in the loot,” the police official added.
