Kathmandu : Nepali President Ram Baran Yadav visited the flood-affected regions in Sunsari district in the southeast on Monday.
According to Sunsari Chief District Officer Durga Prasad Bhandari, President Yadav inspected the flooded area by air.
The President also observed the temporary camps of flood victims in Inaruwa, the headquarters of Sunsari district, local leading news website THT Online reported.
President Yadav is scheduled to meet the local administration, various social service organizations, businessmen, government officials and representatives of political parties to learn about the rescue efforts.
The local administration informed that President Yadav will also take note of the efforts made to rehabilitate the flood-hit people to safer places.
Southeastern Nepal is undergoing a misfortune and painful situation created by full inundation of three Village Development Committees (VDCs) and four other VDCs partially submerged in Sunsari district, some 220 km southeast of capital Kathmandu, after the embankment of the Saptakoshi River suddenly broke down on last Monday.
