Lucknow : The legal advisor of the Deen Dayal Upadhyay University died after being shot by two unidentified motorcycle borne men in Gorakhpur town of Uttar Pradesh, police said Tuesday.
“Vidya Sagar, the legal advisor of the Deen Dayal Upadhyay University, was strolling in a park Monday night when two miscreants riding a motorcycle fired at him and escaped,” District Senior Superintendent of Police Piyush Mordiya told IANS.
Vidya Sagar succumbed to the bullet injuries while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Gorakhpur, about 300 km from here.
University sources said some student leaders could be behind the attack as Vidya Sagar had recommended legal action against them for violating rules during the students’ union election.
