India, Norway to sign pact on fisheries

New Delhi : India and Norway will expand cooperation by signing an agreement on the development of the fisheries sector, Science and Technology Minister Kapil Sibal said here Friday.

“The cabinet today gave its approval for the signing of a memorandum of understanding on bilateral cooperation in the field of fisheries between India and Norway,” Sibal told reporters after the meeting chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

India and Norway are rapidly expanding their economic ties. India is seeking Norway’s support for the India-US civil nuclear deal in the 45-nation Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG).
