Shimla : The Himachal Pradesh government has sent a grant of Rs.20 million to the Bihar government for carrying out relief and rehabilitation work in the flood-ravaged areas, a senior official said Sunday.
“A draft for Rs.20 million has been sent to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar,” the official said.
In a message to Kumar, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal said: “we are prepared to extend any assistance required by the state of Bihar in rehabilitating affected people.”
The surging waters of the Kosi river continued to rise in Bihar, inundating fresh areas as hundreds of villages remained under water on the 14th day of the floods Sunday.
The floods have displaced at least 2.5 million in Bihar.
