Jammu, Dec 10 (IANS) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will continue to be “hard on terrorism”, the party’s national general secretary Arun Jaitley said here Wednesday.
Jaitley said that Congress was disappearing from the political landscape of Jammu and Kashmir and it is “desperately trying to tie-up with Kashmir-centric parties to form the government”.
Jaitley said that Congress was misleading the people by saying that terrorism was not an issue.
“It is a national issue and we, the BJP, will continue to be hard on terrorism,” he said.
He claimed that the Congress was not only acting soft on terrorism, the party was ignoring it as an issue.
Jaitley said that Pakistan was in a self-denial mode, despite the fact that the whole world knows that terrorists who mounted an attack on Mumbai last month came from Pakistani soil.
“Pakistani agencies, too, were involved,” he alleged.
He said that there was a need for special action against terrorism.
Terrorism was an election plank for the BJP in the assembly elections. The BJP retained Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh but lost Rajasthan. The party was also hoping for a win in Delhi, where the Congress returned triumphant for the third successive term.
