Iran in Co-Op with LatAm, ALBA

By Prensa Latina,

Tehran : Iran asserted that broadening relations with Latin America is a priority of its foreign policy, and expressed its willingness to materialize cooperation with members of the Bolivarian Alternative for the Americas (ALBA).

Iranian First Vice President Parviz Davoudi defended the promotion of a broader cooperation in the industrial, commercial field with developing countries, particularly what he described as Latin American revolutionary nations.

“It is a principle of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s foreign policy,” said Davoudi during the first conference on broadening industrial, economic cooperation between Tehran and nations south of the Bravo River.

He added that “Latin American countries are booming nations that can play a bigger role in the international scene and this is the reason why the United States tries to create tension among them.”

While criticizing international financial bodies like the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, “which offer credits to those yielding to their political objectives,” Davoudi urged them to pay attention and assist “the poor, disadvantaged nations.”
