Islamabad : India on Monday said Pakistan government has sufficient evidence which links the elements based in the country to the Mumbai terror attacks as well as the activities of terrorist groups.
“There is a lot of evidence with the Pakistani government and other countries on not just the Mumbai incident. Everyone knows and has evidence about the activities of terrorist groups in Pakistan,” India’s acting High Commissioner Manpreet Vohra said here on Monday.
Vohra, also the Deputy High Commissioner in the Indian mission, told reporters on the sidelines of a seminar that India has sufficient evidence of the Lashker-e-Taiba’s involvement in the Mumbai attacks.
India’s investigation into the incident are underway and more information will be disclosed at the “appropriate time”, he said.
India is committed to resolve all disputes with Pakistan and still wishes to continue talks for regional peace, Vohra said. “Our leaders have clearly said war is not a solution,” he added.
Vohra pointed out that the Pakistan government has “many international obligations” under the UN Security Council resolutions that declared the Jamaat-ud-Dawah a front for the LeT and listed four individuals, including Jamaat chief Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, as terrorists subject to sanctions.
Action needs to be taken against terrorists groups and the UN resolutions “should be taken to their natural logical conclusion”, he said.
In an apparent reaction to Vohra’s comments, Foreign Office spokesman Mohammad Sadiq said: “The government of Pakistan has so far not received any information or evidence relating to the Mumbai incident from the government of India.”
