Kathmandu : Election for the posts of chairpersons of the 14 committees including the Constitutional Committee, the most important panel under Nepali Constituent Assembly (CA), is scheduled to take place on Jan. 9.
A meeting of the Constituent Assembly Executive Advisory Committee held Monday has decided to push the earlier deadline of Dec. 31 for this by 9 more days.
According to nepalnews.com report, with the decision, the calendar of events prepared by the Advisory Committee for drafting of the new constitution has also been affected.
The Advisory Committee which has members from all 25 political parties represented in the CA also decided to amend the CA Rules and Procedures.
The political parties representing the CA will start the constitution drafting process through the committees.
