Beijing : The leader of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Kim Jong Il reiterated his commitment to denuclearization of the peninsula and said all parties must fulfill the agreement, reported the Chinese agency Xinhua.
In a communique from Pyongyang the agency released the interview between Kim and the International Department’s chief of the China Communist party (PCCH), Wang Jiarui, who is visiting this capital.
The position of the PDRK regarding the six-way talks remains unchanged, the North Korean leader said to the Chinese official.
Those meeting are attended by diplomatic representatives from China, the United States, Russia, Japan, South Korea and PDRK.
During Wednesday’s audience Kim Jong Il said the PDRK will work with China, which since 2003 has led those talks to boost complete implementation of agreements, according to Xinhua’s version.
In addition, Wang Jiarui said that there has been progress in the talks over denuclearization of the Korean peninsula and added that China hopes that parties interested continue the necessary steps in that direction.
