Shimla : Residents awoke to fresh snowfall in this popular hill resort Sunday morning that added to the chill.
The snow covered the town in a blanket of white and blocked several roads too.
While traffic was normal on the Kalka-Shimla highway, it was blocked by snow beyond Shimla on the Hindustan-Tibet highway passing through the ski resorts of Kufri and Narkanda.
Reports of snowfall have also come in from other resort towns of the state, including Kufri, Narkanda, Chail, Manali and Dalhousie.
The sprawling tribal belt of Lahaul, Spiti, Kinnaur, Bharmaur and Dodar Kwar experienced heavy snowfall, paralysing life in this high mountain region.
Himachal Pradesh has been experiencing an unusually cold spell since the past couple of weeks.
