Pakistan Minister vows to ensure peaceful conduct of upcoming elections

Islamabad : Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Senator Nisar A. Memon has vowed to ensure peaceful conduct of the upcoming general elections.

“The government took tight security measures during the holy month of Muharram and our security plan proved successful. We will continue with the same security measures on the eve of election,” he told BBC radio.

To a question, the Minister said security agencies have captured several terrorist groups from different parts of the country, which were engaged in suicide bombings, adding “our struggle against terrorists and extremists is successfully continuing.”

To another question he said people are well aware of the fact that tendencies of extremism and militancy could not be eliminated within a day.

Rather, people are acknowledging that the government is making utmost efforts to eliminate menace of terrorism from the society as it has achieved many successes in this regard, Nisar A. Memon mentioned.
