India, Denmark sign three agreements

New Delhi, Feb 7, IRNA ,India and Denmark Wednesday signed three agreements including a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of new and renewable energy.

The other agreements are establishment of joint commission for cooperation between the two countries and arrangement on gainful employment for family members of diplomatic mission.

The agreements were signed after a delegation level talks headed by Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and his Danish counterpart Anders Fogh Rasmussen in New Delhi Wednesday evening.

Earlier, the Prime Minister of Denmark told media after the ceremonial recepion at the forecourts of Rashtrapati Bhawan that there is huge scope to carry forward the bilateral relations in the field of IT and life sciences.

Rasmussen was hopeful that India would play a constructive role in reaching a comprehensive agreement at the UN conference on climate change which his country is hosting next year.

Rasmussen also met the President Ms Pratibha Devi Singh Patil and other Indian leaders .

He will attend the opening session of the Delhi Sustainable Development Summit which begins on Thursday.

The Danish Prime Minister will also visit Agra before his departure on Friday morning.
