Jakarta : A landslide triggered by torrential rains swept several houses in the Indonesian town of Brebes, killing at least seven people, TV news reported Wednesday.
The disaster occurred late Tuesday at Sindangwangi village, Bantarkawung sub-district, about 300 km east of Jakarta, destroying at least four houses, Metro TV reported.
Two bridges linking to the village collapsed after flooding, hampering efforts to send heavy machines for ongoing evacuation.
Villagers use traditional tools to dig the mud to recover bodies, the TV said.
