League of Arab States hold meeting with U.N. Chief on Gaza

United Nations : The league of Arab states on Tuesday held a closed-door meeting with United Nations (U.N.) Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon on the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.

Saudi Press Agency (SPA) obtained an exclusive copy of the Arab States’ talking points for the meeting which reflected the Arab group’s appreciation for Moon’s commitment to the ongoing Middle East peace process, but gave specific mention to the humanitarian situation in Gaza.

The league also requested that the Secretary General continue to address the “Middle-East situation, including the Palestinian question” within the Security Council’s agenda, placing it on “high priority,” the notes said.

They also acknowledged “the efforts made by the United Nations System to serve the noble cause of the Palestinian people in their struggle for freedom, peace and security.”
