Ramallah : The Palestinian Authority received about 15 tonnes of aid from Kuwait on Wednesday, Palestinian Social Affairs Minister Mahmoud Al-Habbash said on Thursday.
Speaking to KUNA, Al-Habbash said the aid that arrived to the West Bank consisted of medicine, medical supplies, and school bags.
A total of 18 trucks of aid were sent to Gaza, while two others arrived in the West Bank, he pointed out.
He said that the Red Crescent received the aid sent to Gaza after it crossed King Hussein Bridge in coordination with the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO).
He noted that the shipment of aid was not the first to be sent by Kuwait to the Palestinian people, emphasizing that the Gulf state had always supported the Palestinians.
Al-Habbash said there were continuous coordination between the Kuwaiti and Palestinian social affairs ministries and Red Crescent societies.
He thanked Kuwait, its people, and Kuwait Red Crescent Society for the aid.
The people of Gaza are living under tragic conditions due to the Israeli siege on the Strip, which led to a shortage of medicine.
