Ranchi : The Indian Advocate Front has lodged a compliant against Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray here Wednesday, alleging he has hurt the sentiments of the Hindu community and has tried to create social unrest by raising regional issues.

Front president Kafillur Rahman lodged the complaint at Ranchi chief judicial magistrate’s court a few days after a series of violent incidents in Mumbai between MNS supporters and residents originally from north India.

Different political parties and social groups also burnt Raj Thackeray’s effigy here. “India is one country. Raj is trying to create divisions in it,” said Jaleshwar Mahto, state president of Janata Dal-United (JD-U).

But Thackeray’s stand was however supported by a tribal party here. “He is right in his demand that Marathi people should get preference in jobs in Maharashtra. We demand that Biharis should leave Jharkhand,” said Salkhan Murmu, president of Jharkhand Disom Party.
