New Delhi : Suspended Delhi government schoolteacher Uma Khurana, accused in a fake TV sting of being involved in a sex racket, Thursday urged the Delhi High Court to order her reinstatement.
Citing lack of evidence, a trial court had on Nov 1 last year cleared Khurana of all charges. She had then filed a petition in the high court alleging that the Department of Education (DoE) had failed to consider her plea for returning to work despite being cleared of wrongdoing.
In her petition, she has relied upon the case charge sheet and the trial court’s verdict that said she was innocent and was wrongly framed as an accused in the case.
The fake TV sting operation aired Aug 30 last year said that Khurana is involved in a sex racket involving schoolgirls.
Prakash Singh, a reporter of Live India channel that carried the fake sting operation, was arrested Sept 8 last year after it transpired that the girl who made the allegations against Khurana was not a student but an aspiring journalist.
The petition, filed through counsel Amit Kumar, is likely to come up for hearing Feb 11.
