Gaza : The Israeli Army said Friday it will cut the power supply to the Gaza Strip until rocket attacks on the southern area of the Jewish state stop.
Army spokesman told Israel Radio that the Palestinians fired a large number of rockets and missiles at Israeli towns and military areas near Gaza Friday morning.
He said the attacks continued although Israel started cutting the power supply at midnight on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Radio Israel quoted spokesman of the Israeli Defense Ministry as saying that the Palestinians must choose between continuing to launch rockets at Israel or getting power.
According to the radio, Al-Quds Brigades, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad’s military wing, and the Popular Resistance Committees (PRC) claimed responsibility of firing the rockets at south Israel on Friday, causing damage to some properties.
It added that the Palestinian groups fired on Thursday seven rockets and eight missiles at Israel, leading to the injury of two people in Sderot.
In the meantime, the Israeli Army announced that its forces discovered, in a military operation in northern Gaza Strip, secret tunnels that were used to hide the Palestinian rocket launchers.
Some tunnels had rocket launching platforms that were hidden so that Israeli planes that usually fly over that area would not see them, the army spokesman claimed.
The army believes that the Palestinians learned how to hide the platforms from the Lebanese Hezbollah.
