Gaza : Two Palestinian militants were wounded early Saturday as an Israeli airstrike hit the group of militants who were preparing for firing home-made rockets into southern Israel from northern Gaza Strip, Palestinian medical sources said.
“The two men were taken to Beit Hanoun hospital and then transferred to another hospital in Jabaliya refugee camp,” said Mu’ awia Hassanein, director of ambulance and emergency department at the health ministry.
The two sustained moderate injuries, he added.
Witnesses said that the group of Palestinian fighters were hit by a missile in a border town, where is often used as a launch pad for rocket attacks against southern Israeli communities.
Meanwhile, Israeli radio also confirmed the airstrike, saying the army targeted a rocket squad that was trying to fire rockets into Western Negev.
Despite the Israeli airstrike, two rockets still landed in the Western Negev this morning without casualties or damages, according to Israel’s radio.
