Lucknow, Feb 13 (IANS) The allotment of 100 acres of land in Uttar Pradesh to the Sahara group and the construction carried out on it has been found to be “illegal”, a minister said Wednesday.
Replying to a query raised by an opposition member, Uttar Pradesh Housing Minister Naseemuddin Siddiqui told the state assembly that the land given to Sahara in Lucknow’s Gomati Nagar was a “chunk of the green belt”.
He said allotting it was “in total violation of laws”.
“Even the construction plan submitted by the company had not been passed by the Lucknow Development Authority and we would therefore initiate action against them under specific provisions.”
