New Delhi : The Supreme Court Friday refused to suspend a Punjab and Haryana High Court ruling that had declared Sikhs a majority community in Punjab.
A bench headed by Chief Justice K.G. Balakrishnan refused to suspend the high court judgement, saying that if they go by the argument of the state government, the Hindus will be a minority in India.
The bench also said: “It’s very absurd to say that Sikhs in Punjab are in a minority”.
